Former NFL and UNLV great Randall Cunningham won his coaching debut today with the Silverado football team.

Keikiokalani Misipeka rushed for 150 yards and Andrew Pappas had an interception return for a touchdown, and Silverado led from start to finish in a 23-14 victory against host Shadow Ridge.

“I was so proud of the kids,” Cunningham said. “When we were up, they kept playing the same game. They were relaxed.”

Devion Clayton at wide receiver and defensive back had a solid game before leaving with cramps, Cunningham said. ZaKee Washington had a long touchdown reception from Micah Weber.

Shadow Ridge scored a touchdown in the final minute and added a 2-point conversion.

“Shadow Ridge, that’s a talented team. They were feisty,” Cunningham said. “They were well coached and well disciplined.”
