Lockdown lifted for 2 NLV schools amid search for suspect

The lockdown at two North Las Vegas schools has been lifted, and police are no longer searching the area where a subject escaped the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service.

According to North Las Vegas Police Officer Aaron Patty, a subject ran from the marshals in the area of West Ann Road and North Commerce Street.

The incident was reported at about 3:20 p.m., Patty said.

Watson Elementary School and Findlay Middle School went on lockdown in response to the police activity in the area, according to Clark County School District Police Capt. Ken Young. Patty said the lockdown was lifted about 6:30 p.m.

According to Patty, the subject was not located. North Las Vegas Police are no longer part of the U.S. Marshals' search.
