Two teenagers have been arrested in a series of robberies and a double shooting earlier this month.

An unnamed 17-year-old male identified as the primary suspect was arrested Thursday on two counts of robbery with a deadly weapon and two counts of attempted murder, according to a Metro Police news release.

Police also arrested Anthony Oliva, 18, on Wednesday on charges including conspiracy to commit robbery, two counts of robbery with use of a deadly weapon, and destroying or concealing evidence, according to the release.

The two are accused of robbing a man and woman at South Tower Park in Summerlin, near Charleston Boulevard and Vista Center Drive, in the early-morning hours of Sept. 4.

The victims told police a group of four or five males of about high school age approached them in the park, according to a Metro arrest report.

The suspects allegedly robbed the couple before the 17-year-old reportedly shot the man in the knee and the woman in the hip with a .22 caliber rifle.

The suspects then fled the scene in the woman's green, 1999 Mitsubishi Galant, the report said.

According to the police report, Oliva admitted to throwing the rifle in a dumpster but claimed he had no knowledge of the event and had remained in his vehicle.

Police believe the same suspects were involved in a similar robbery at Cheyenne Avenue and Soaring Gulls Drive, just outside of Summerlin, according to the news release. The release said the individuals who committed that crime threatened to shoot a female victim.
