letter to the editor:

Nation spending itself to collapse

The Sept. 8 letter “Two key programs and conservatives” misses the bigger problem.

If the writer really cared about his children and grandchildren, then he wouldn’t support spending trillions more for Obamacare. This nation cannot afford to keep expanding the government at this record pace and expect our children and grandchildren to have a promising future.

Our national debt is almost $18 trillion.

We have unfunded liabilities for Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid of more than $124 trillion. As illegal immigration continues, these amounts will grow. We have more than 46 million people on food stamps.

The letter writer said, “If you want to help give the country back to the people, don’t vote for a single Republican in November.”

I agree wholeheartedly. Let the liberals and a few “Republicans in name only” who are helping them keep spending us into bankruptcy, which is coming sooner than later.

Then, after bankruptcy and several months of looting and rioting in cities such as Los Angeles and Detroit because the Electronic Benefit Transfer cards and welfare checks don’t arrive, we will form a new government that is fiscally responsible and won’t spend more than we have. I can’t wait.
