North Las Vegas closing library near old city hall

North Las Vegas is closing one of its three municipal library branches ahead of a plan to open another branch at a yet-to-be announced site.

City spokesman Mitch Fox says the library at 2300 Civic Center Drive will close at 6 p.m. Sept. 19.

The outside book depository at the site, near the old city hall, will also be closed.

Fox says officials plan to announce a new library location in October.

Due dates are being extended for materials from the Civic Center branch.

Returns can be made to the North Las Vegas branch library on Alexander Road between Martin Luther King and Scott Robinson boulevards, or to any Las Vegas-Clark County Library location.

Renewals can be done online at www.nlvld.org or by calling the Aliante branch library.
