A fire broke out in a vacant, one-story duplex near downtown Las Vegas on Thursday afternoon.
Investigators say it appears that squatters may have caused the fire at 358 N. 13th St., according to Las Vegas Fire & Rescue spokesman Tim Szymanski.
The home had no active utilities and suffered $5,000 in damage.
A call came in at about 4:45 p.m. that a single-story residence near the intersection of North 13th Street and East Mesquite Avenue was on fire, Szymanski said.
No injuries were reported.
