Woman killed in wrong way collision on 215 identified

The woman killed early Tuesday in a head-on collision with a wrong-way driver on the 215 Beltway has been identified.

Jennie Marie Bergstrom, 28, died of multiple blunt-force motor vehicle trauma, according to the Clark County Coroner's office.

Bergstrom, a Henderson resident, was traveling in a silver Hyundai Elantra around 12:45 a.m. in the westbound lanes at the same time that a 30-year-old man in a red Toyota Tundra was driving eastbound against traffic, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol. They collided head on just west of Windmill Lane.

Bergstrom was pronounced dead on scene. The male driver of the pickup was transported to University Medical Center with nonlife-threatening injuries.

He has been booked in absentia on charges of driving under the influence and causing a death, driving the wrong way and driving with a revoked driver's license.
