Boulder City weren’t kind hosts to far-away-from-home Pahrump Valley Friday night.
The Eagles stomped the Trojans 50-21 to record their first victory of the season.
“We had a few injuries but the kids really stepped up when they had to,” Boulder City coach Alex Kazel said. “It was great to see that we didn’t miss a beat.”
For Boulder City, it was as easy as following the lead of seniors Trenton Carmell and Brooks Roe. Carmell threw for 175 yards and a touchdown on 12-for-16 passing while running for 132 yards and three touchdowns.
Roe was just as versatile, with eight carries for 96 rushing yards and two touchdowns and five catches for 117 yards and a touchdown.
Carmell and Roe helped the Eagles claw out of a 6-0 hole and never look back.
“They played great,” Kazel said. “We had a lot of kids out there that needed to find themselves after we had some issues last week. We were able to finish this game strong.”
