Vegas Play of the Day: Arizona Diamondbacks at San Diego Padres

Here’s the latest installment of the Play of the Day, which uses odds from the South Point. Our three sports writers started with a $10,000 bankroll — fictional, of course.

Arizona Diamondbacks at San Diego Padres under-6.5 runs: $440 to win $400

Football season is finally here, which means baseball’s days in this space are numbered. Since this is one of my last few plays on the diamond for the season I want to go out strong with one of our old friends: the Padres under.

Since my last play on the Padres under on July 22, that side has gone 18-18-1. So it’s actually good that we haven’t been paying attention because only now is it getting profitable again with five of the last six going under.

Add in the Diamondbacks going under in eight of their last 11 and you’ve got a good combination to play the next three nights.

Standings: Bern (44-33-1, $13,427), Keefer (39-41, $10,362), Brewer (32-44-3, $2,200)
