51s finish regular season with PCL’s best record, start playoffs Wednesday

The Las Vegas 51s beat host Albuquerque 5-0 today in their regular season finale, finishing with a Pacific Coast League best 81-63 record and second straight division title.

Catcher Taylor Teagarden hit his 14th home run of the season for Las Vegas, leading all catchers in Pacific Coast League with home runs for the season. Cesar Puello added two hits and two runs, helping the 51s finish the game strong with a three-run ninth inning.

The 51s on Wednesday host either Reno or Sacramento in a five-game PCL playoff series.
