A woman was killed in an early morning shooting at a North Las Vegas apartment complex.
North Las Vegas Police said officers responded about 2:30 a.m. to reports of gunfire at a complex in the 300 block of Casa Norte Drive.
Officers found a 42-year-old woman suffering from a gunshot wound in the parking lot just inside the complex, Officer Steven Weise said. She was transported to University Medical Center, where she was declared dead.
Police were searching for a suspect.
Witnesses reported the woman had been arguing with the suspect before the shooting, Weise said. Police believe they knew each other, he said.
Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators were on the scene.
