Apartment fire displaces 3, causes about $110,000 damage

Three women and a cat were displaced early this morning after a fire at their apartment did about $110,000 damage, Clark County Fire Department officials said.

No one was injured.

Firefighters responded about 3:20 a.m. to reports of a fire at an apartment complex at 6869 Tamarus Street, near Paradise and Sunset roads, officials said. They discovered a fire in a second-story balcony closet that had spread to the attic and walls, officials said.

Firefighters stopped the fire from spreading to the roof and rescued a cat in the apartment, officials said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
