Letter to the editor:

Why are languages separated?

Indeed, the mix of languages being spoken across the country is changing, and how!

In an isolated corner of the article in the Oct. 16 issue was a tally of the most common languages spoken in the homes of Clark County students. I would assume the source of these numbers is the CCSD, thereby indicating the varied languages, other than English, the student population speaks. However, I’m quite confused as to why there is a categorical separation of Tagalog and Filipino; these languages are one and the same, as far as my Philippine heritage will attest.
