Police arrest man in death of girlfriend’s son

BULLHEAD CITY, Ariz. — Bullhead City police have arrested a woman's boyfriend in the death of the woman's 15-month-old son.

Police said 23-year-old David Jonathan Ramos was arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder and child abuse in the death Thursday of Drayson Tese.

The child died at a Las Vegas hospital after the mother and Ramos took the child to an Arizona hospital with a reported head injury.

According to police, Ramos said he was playing with the boy and accidentally dropped him when he threw the boy in the air.

However, an autopsy concluded the boy died from blunt force trauma to the abdomen.

Police said the boy's mother was not at home when the child was injured and will not be charged.

It was not immediately known whether Ramos has an attorney.
