A Bullhead City, Ariz., police officer was arrested Wednesday in Laughlin on a count of attempted sexual assault, according to Metro Police.

Jesse Hoag, 37, surrendered to law enforcement, Metro said.

Metro Police in Laughlin received a call about 6:50 a.m. Wednesday of an attempted sexual assault outside a bar in the 2300 block of Casino Drive, officials said.

A female told police Hoag approached her in the bar and the two talked, police said. They left the bar and got into Hoag’s vehicle, where, she alleged, Hoag tried to sexually assault her, according to Metro Police.

She was able to get out of the vehicle after a struggle and called police from the bar, authorities said.

Hoag left the scene before police arrived but later surrendered, police said. He was booked at the Laughlin Detention Center and later released on bond.
