Recent developments in the investigation into the 2005 slaying of Henderson businessman Danny Cates have led detectives to believe there may be people who have more information about the case, police said.

Cates, then 64, was found dead Aug. 31, 2005, in the office of his construction company at 12 Sunset Way in Henderson. His body was discovered about 5 a.m. by employees as they arrived for work.

Cates died from multiple gunshot wounds, police said.

“Homicide investigations remain open until solved,” Henderson Police Chief Patrick Moers said. “We want to bring the guilty to justice and give the families of victims some measure of closure. It is our hope that anyone who has any information in this case will come forward.”

Anyone with information is asked to call the Henderson Police Department at 702-267-4750 or to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555 or online at crimestoppersofnv.com. Tips directly leading to an arrest or indictment processed through Crime Stoppers may result in a cash reward.
