Man gets up to 20 years in fatal Halloween crash

A 22-year-old man has been ordered to seven to 20 years in prison for a Halloween crash in North Las Vegas that killed a teen mother an injured three others.

Leonard Novell Walker II was sentenced Thursday, after pleading guilty in July to driving under the influence.

North Las Vegas police say Walker was driving more than 30 miles over the speed limit last Halloween when he crashed into a car on Ann Road and Coleman Street.

Seventeen-year-old Savannah McInnis was killed, while her 2-year-old son Cayden and her fiance's aunt and uncle were sent to the hospital.

McInnis' sister, Brianna Serratos, said she hoped her sister's death would inspire changes to drunken driving laws.

Walker apologized at the sentencing hearing and said he hopes McInnis' family could forgive him.
