A 37-year-old man found dead in a house following a domestic dispute Thursday committed suicide, according to the Clark County Coroner’s Office.

Jose Castro of Las Vegas was discovered with a gunshot wound to the head in the 800 block of North 1st Street, near Main Street and Washington Avenue, officials said.

Family members reported that the situation began as a dispute between Castro and his wife, Metro Police Officer Laura Meltzer said.

They said Castro left the house and then went back inside, Meltzer said. They then heard what they believed to be at least one gunshot, she said.

Police sent a robot into the house and discovered the body, Toman said.
