Adam Laxalt, left, shakes hands with Nevada Secretary of State Ross Miller before they debate Friday, Oct. 10, 2014, in Las Vegas. Laxalt and Miller are facing each other in a race for attorney general in Nevada.

Seven members of Republican attorney general candidate Adam Laxalt’s extended family have endorsed his opponent, Democrat Ross Miller.

In a letter to the editor published today in the Las Vegas Sun, the family members, including two aunts and several cousins, called Miller “the most qualified candidate” for attorney general.

Laxalt’s campaign fired back, noting Laxalt, a Las Vegas attorney, has a big family, many of whom support his candidacy.

“There are hundreds of members of the Laxalt family in Nevada,” Laxalt campaign consultant Robert Uithoven said. “Like many multi-generational Nevada families, there are political differences, differences in backgrounds and experience. The Laxalt family is no different.”

The family feud doesn’t appear to be a new development.

Four members of the Laxalt family have given donations totaling $4,475 to Miller’s campaign since November, according to the Nevada Secretary of State’s Office.
