A federal court hearing was postponed in Las Vegas for a Phoenix woman who admits trespassing but still faces a violence charge in a shoe-throwing incident last April involving former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton.

A court official said Tuesday that U.S. District Magistrate Judge George Foley Jr. rescheduled 36-year-old Alison Michelle Ernst's hearing for Thursday.

Ernst pleaded guilty in September to a misdemeanor trespassing charge, after a psychological exam found her fit for trial.

Her defense lawyer, William Carrico, says prosecutors are asking the judge to dismiss a misdemeanor federal charge of violence against a person in a restricted building.

Until then, Ernst is due for trial Oct. 29.

She faces up to a year in prison and a $100,000 fine on each misdemeanor charge.
