Authorities say a man was shot and a suspected gunman was arrested in the lobby of a Nevada agency that handles disabled worker claims and hearings in Las Vegas.

The wounded man's identity wasn't immediately made public after the single gunshot was fired just before 9 a.m. Monday at the Nevada Attorney for Injured Workers, located at 2200 S. Rancho Drive, Suite 230.

Las Vegas police Officer Larry Hadfield says the wounded man was hospitalized at nearby University Medical Center with injuries that weren't believed to be life-threatening.

Hadfield says the alleged assailant, 73-year old Leonard Sullivan, was subdued by security officers and arrested when police arrived at the office building several blocks west of the Las Vegas Strip.

Sullivan was arrested on an attempted murder charge, according to a Metro Police news release.

Robin Chase, the supervising attorney in the office, says employees locked down inside hearing rooms and work spaces after the single gunshot was heard.
