Shots fired at school bus from pellet gun

Updated Friday, Oct. 10, 2014 | 2:52 p.m.

A person with a pellet gun fired shots at a Clark County School District bus this afternoon, authorities said.

The pellets were fired from a small, black sports car with no license plates at the bus, which was carrying two passengers, including a 13-year-old boy, Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Loy Hixson said.

No one was injured, Hixson said.

The bus was headed south on U.S. 95 about 1:40 p.m. when someone on the passenger’s side of the sports car opened fire, striking a window on the bus, Hixson said.

The bus exited the freeway at Boulder Highway after the incident and pulled onto the shoulder of the road, Hixson said.

Metro Police, the Nevada Highway Patrol and Clark County School District Police responded to the incident.

Police have not identified any suspects. School District Police will be in charge of the investigation, Hixson said.
