Aeneas McAllister goes by the nickname “Tank.”

The junior quarterback’s play has been as sturdy as a tank in recent games.

McAllister threw two touchdown passes and rushed for three more scores, Basic coach Jeff Cahill said, to lead the Wolves to a 42-34 victory at Eldorado on Friday night.

McAllister found Dallon Ellett and Josh Villaros for touchdown passes, Cahill said.

“He did a great job running the ball tonight,” Cahill said of McAllister. “He hit some big passes for us, got first downs. He’s been improving every week. We expect him to keep working and getting better. We’re hoping he keeps making big strides for us.”

Foothill also got big plays from its defense, as Cahill said Kendahl Blakely registered three sacks and Jake Waldron picked off two passes.

“The kids knew they could play better. It’s a good wake-up call; we’ve got Foothill coming in next week,” Cahill said.

“We’re just plugging along trying to get better. We know we’re going to have to improve as we get closer to the playoffs.”
