Declare war on radical Islam

The U.S. is in a generational war with people who express a radical and virulent strain of Islam. Such a clear declaration by the U.S. government is long overdue and is required to address an existential threat to Western civilization.

The Islamic State, Khorasan and al-Qaida are several clear manifestations of this ideology, as is the increasing incidence of radical, savage, homegrown purveyors of this ideology in America, the U.K. and other Western nations.

Probably the greatest threat to our national security is the curious decision by the Obama administration to remove the words “radical Islamic terrorism” from our national lexicon and replace them with misleading phrases such as “violent extremism.” Such policies conceal the truth and take our eyes off the reality of the threat we face from radical Islamic savagery.

The U.S. must mobilize its intelligence, law enforcement and military resources to accurately describe and deal with this truth or Americans will be misled and harmed by this lethal threat.

What we are confronting and must formally declare as a nation is a war with the fanatical and radical element of Islam. The war and the conflicts accompanying it will be intergenerational, and we must accept this fact.
