GOP’s Benghazi efforts pointless

The Republican majority in the House is once again stirring up controversy about the attack in Benghazi, although after five hearings and failing to link former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to any wrongdoing, they are planning another hearing, which will have the same end result!

As previously, they will waste taxpayers’ money to come to the same conclusion that there was no dereliction on the part of Clinton.

Let the GOP be reminded that they voted to cut nearly a half-billion dollars, which was requested by President Barack Obama, from the State Department’s budget to cover things such as security staffing, armored vehicles, embassy construction, security technology and upgrades. Clinton warned Republicans that they were weakening national security. They opted to ignore her. Had they considered the end results of their decision, this disaster could have been prevented.

The GOP has one objective, which is to prevent any signs of cooperation with the president and secretary of state while ignoring what is in the best interest of this great nation. The voters will remember this in the midterm elections, as well as in 2016.
