A woman was hospitalized after a Thanksgiving Day house fire caused about $75,000 in damages in North Las Vegas, a fire department official said.

The woman was transported to the hospital in stable condition and a man was treated and released at the scene, North Las Vegas Fire Department officials said.

The fire was reported about 4:30 p.m. at the single-story, single-family home, officials said.

Firefighters arrived and found heavy smoke and fire coming mostly from the garage, according to a media release.

They were able to completely contain the fire in about 45 minutes, but the garage sustained significant damage, the release said.

The fire was ruled an accident, and no other injuries were reported, officials said.

Fire investigators estimated the incident caused about $50,000 in damage to the house and about $25,000 worth of damage to a vehicle.

Other parts of the house sustained moderate smoke and structural damage, the release said.
