A man suffered substantial injuries after being hit by a vehicle this evening in the northeast valley, police said.
Metro Police received a report about 6:15 p.m. of an automobile-pedestrian accident near Lake Mead Boulevard and Ringe Lane, near Nellis Boulevard, Lt. Joel Martin said.
The man was transported to University Medical Center's trauma center, Martin said.
Traffic officers responded to the scene and to the hospital to investigate, he said.
At the time of the incident, Lake Mead was closed from Nellis to Betty Lane for the investigation.
