Man stabbed to death on Strip pedestrian bridge; suspect arrested

A man is dead and a suspect is in custody after a stabbing early Tuesday morning on the Las Vegas Strip.

Officials received a report about 12:40 a.m. of a man being stabbed on the Harmon Avenue pedestrian overpass in the 3700 block of Las Vegas Boulevard South, according to a Metro Police media release.

An investigation indicates the victim and suspect had a confrontation that resulted in the man being stabbed and the suspect fleeing, the release said.

The man was transported to University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Metro used video footage to compile a suspect description and arrested Las Vegas resident Calvin Boyden III, 22, after a foot pursuit.

Boyden is expected to face charges of murder with a deadly weapon and robbery with a deadly weapon, the release said.

The victim's identity and official cause of death will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
