A man hit and killed by a car as he pushed his granddaughter in a stroller Monday has been identified as Michael Grubbs, 63, of Las Vegas, according to the Clark County Coroner’s Office.

The 1-year-old child in the stroller suffered minor injuries, Metro Police said.

Grubbs was pushing the child in a stroller about 11 a.m. along South Rainbow Boulevard, near West Warm Springs Road, when the car drove off the road to pass other vehicles and hit him, police said.

Witnesses reported the car, a dark gray Honda Civic with a Nevada license plate starting with the numbers 948, has damage to the right front, according to police. The driver was described as a woman about 20 to 30 years old, police said.

Grubbs and the child were taken to University Medical Center, but doctors were not able to save Grubbs, police said.
