A teenager has been arrested on charges including murder with a deadly weapon in connection with the shooting death of an 18-year-old Tuesday in North Las Vegas.

Eric Javon Bell, 18, surrendered to the authorities on charges stemming from the death of Roland Pleasant, according to a North Las Vegas Police news release.

Bell was booked at the Las Vegas City Jail and also faces charges including robbery with a deadly weapon, attempted robbery with a deadly weapon and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, the release said.

Officers received a report about 6:45 p.m. Tuesday of a shooting victim on the ground near Tropical Parkway and Lawrence Street, the release said.

Police said Pleasant was driving a vehicle with two teenaged passengers when they picked up Bell, an acquaintance.

Evidence indicates Bell entered the vehicle, pulled out a gun and robbed one of the passengers, the release said.

Police said he attempted to rob the other passenger and shot Pleasant.

The passengers called police from a nearby store, the release said.

Pleasant was transported to University Medical Center's trauma center, where he was pronounced dead.

Police are asking anyone with additional information on the case to call 702-633-9111. Those wishing to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
