Metro Police seeking suspect in fatal shooting

Metro Police have identified Virgil Woods, 45, as a suspect in a fatal shooting on Nov. 9, 2014, in the 4600 block of Amberleigh Lane, near Nellis Boulevard an Sahara Avenue.

Metro Police are asking for the public’s help in finding man they identified as a suspect in a shooting death at an east valley home earlier this month.

Police are looking for Virgil Woods, 45, and warn that he should be considered armed and dangerous.

On Nov. 9, a person kicked in a door at a home in the 4600 block of Amberleigh Lane, near Nellis Boulevard an Sahara, shot a man and fled, police said.

The victim was found by officers about 5 a.m. suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center and later died.

Virgil is bald and has a thin build. He has tattoos on the right side of his neck and could still be in the area, police said.
