Cuomo: ‘Impractical’ for Bills to play Jets on Sunday

BUFFALO, N.Y. — A severe lake-effect snowstorm hitting the Buffalo region has prompted the NFL to consider alternatives to the Bills playing their home game against the New York Jets on Sunday.

Without going into detail, NFL spokesman Greg Aiello wrote in an email Thursday that the league is discussing alternatives, with an update scheduled for later in the day.

One option would be pushing back the game a day or two. Another would be relocating the game outside of Orchard Park, which is blanketed by about 5 feet of snow.

Earlier in the day, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo called it "impractical" at this time for the game to play Sunday.

The snow has affected the Bills preparations after the team canceled practice for a second straight day.
