The death of a man found this morning in a trash dumpster at a west valley apartment complex might have been the result of a medical episode, Metro Police said.
The body was found about 7 a.m. at the Allanza at the Lakes apartment complex in the 8600 block of Starboard Drive. Police did not explain how the body ended up in the dumpster.
Police said there was no visible sign of trauma, and nothing appeared to be missing from the apartment where the man lived alone.
The man's identity and cause of death will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
Police were searching a red SUV next to the trash bin this morning but have not said if it has any connection to the body.
A woman who lives at the complex said that when she and her husband parked their car in the parking lot about 4 p.m. Monday, she noticed there were three dogs in the SUV, but nobody was around.
“They were all in the car by themselves. I thought, ‘Well that’s weird,’” said Mary Ornelas, who has lived at the complex for a year and a half.
Dustin Walker, who has lived at the complex for about six months, said that “since I’ve been here, this dumpster has been lit on fire and has had a body in it.”
