Judge made the right call on Uber

Hooray. Judge Douglas Herndon did the right thing in the Uber hearing. He used a common-sense approach and evaluated the case, allowing Uber to continue operations in Las Vegas.

He was right on the money when he said competition is a good thing and shot down the argument that Uber drivers will commit crimes. He correctly pointed out that taxi drivers have committed crimes.

Uber is operating in hundreds of cities here in America and abroad. They are good for tourists and locals in each of those cities.

Uber is only a ride-sharing company trying to match up riders with drivers. They are not a taxi company . Uber, Ride Genie and other ride-share companies can only make Las Vegas a better place for locals and tourists.

Nevada legislators should get on board with all the other states and cities that have ride-share operators. Lawmakers should take a lesson from Herndon. Nevada has to get with the program and the technology that is operating worldwide to make locals’ and tourists’ life much easier.
