Letter to the editor:

Riviera should fold on tiger show

In regards to the story “Big cats scrambling back to the Strip with Dirk Arthur’s ‘Wild Illusions’ at the Riv” (Oct. 7):

The Riviera, once a proud Strip icon, is really going downhill. Wild animals do not belong in casinos.

Tigers are apex predators who need to roam freely, hunt and control territory. They only perform confusing and demeaning tricks through force and fear. When not on stage, they spend their time in cramped cages. They have no quality of life.

The Riviera can still show a winning hand by folding this show before it opens.

People who don’t want to gamble with animals’ lives will turn their backs on these kinds of cruel spectacles.
