Las Vegas Weekly, the valley's premier arts and entertainment guide, is undergoing a change in leadership.

Spencer Patterson has been named editor of the publication effective Nov. 14, succeeding out-going editor Sarah Feldberg. Feldberg and her fiancé, Las Vegas Sun reporter Tovin Lapan, are leaving Las Vegas to travel and pursue freelance projects.

Patterson has been managing editor of Weekly for four years. In his 16 years with Greenspun Media Group, which produces the publication, Patterson also has been Weekly's arts and entertainment editor and has been a staff writer for Weekly and the Las Vegas Sun.

“Spencer’s love and pride in Las Vegas are well known, and he’s adored by the community, “ said Bob Cauthorn, chief operating officer of GMG. “We expect Spencer is going to do great things for our readers. The Weekly is overwhelmingly the most read and the most honored arts and entertainment weekly in the region, and we believe Spencer can propel us to even greater heights."

In related news, Weekly staff writer Erin Ryan will succeed Patterson as managing editor. Ryan has been part of the Weekly's staff since April 2011.

Weekly is distributed for free on Thursdays at more than 1,800 locations in the valley.
