las vegas 51s:

51s losing streak now at five games

The Las Vegas 51s were defeated today for a fifth straight game, falling 10-1 at home to visiting Sacramento.

Allen Dykstra was one of the lone bright spots for the 51s, going 3 for 4 with a solo home run in the sixth inning for the Las Vegas run. Kirk Nieuwenhuis added two hits for Las Vegas, including a triple.

Five Sacramento players had multi-hit games to pace the River Cats’ 16-hit attack. The 51s have dropped seven of their past eight games, but still lead the Pacific Coast League’s Pacific Southern Division by 8 and 1/2 games with a 32-18 overall record.

The series with Sacramento concluded at 12:05 p.m. Monday.
