Reno man accused of impersonating cop to grope teen

A 24-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of impersonating a police officer to grope a teenager in Reno.

Police say an 18-year-old female was depositing money at a bank late Saturday night when the man presented himself as an off-duty officer.

After directing her to his vehicle featuring flashing amber lights, the suspect is accused of searching her while pressing up against her and trying to reach down her pants.

The suspect fled the scene after the teen pushed him away and requested a marked police car.

But his vehicle was tracked down later.

Kenneth Crockett II was booked into the Washoe County jail for investigation of battery with intent to commit sexual assault, kidnapping and impersonating an officer.
