A suspected drunken driver died early Sunday during a rollover crash along the 215 Beltway near Sahara Avenue in the western Las Vegas Valley.

Trooper Loy Hixson with the Nevada Highway Patrol said the man was apparently speeding south on the highway about 2:30 a.m. when he lost control of his SUV and went veering to the right of the road.

The SUV turned over before coming to a stop.

The man, 24, from Las Vegas, was wearing a seat belt. He was rushed to University Medical Center, where doctors pronounced him dead.

No one else was involved in the crash.
