Pedestrian killed crossing Lake Mead Parkway

A 39-year-old woman was hit and killed by a vehicle Saturday night after she failed to follow the crosswalk signals and walked across Lake Mead Parkway, Henderson Police officials said.

The woman attempted to cross Lake Mead at Taylor Street at a crosswalk about 9:15 p.m., when a 27-year-old man driving a Ford Explorer reached the intersection and hit her. Witnesses claimed the woman did not have the signal to cross, police said.

She was transported to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center where she died from her injuries about 11:30 p.m., police said.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office will release the name and identity of the victim after her family has been notified.
