Blustery conditions prompt dust advisory

Winds in the Las Vegas Valley this afternoon could cause unhealthy levels of dust, prompting the Clark County Department of Air Quality to issue an advisory through Tuesday morning.

Gusts between 25 and 30 mph, with the potential to reach 50 mph, are forecast for this afternoon, National Weather Service officials said.

County officials advised operators of construction sites to take precautions to prevent blowing dust. Unhealthy levels of dust have not been detected, but the county will monitoring air conditions and post updates on its website.
