U.S. News includes 11 UNLV graduate programs on Top 100 ‘Best Schools’ list

Eleven UNLV graduate programs were ranked among the nation’s top 100, although its law school fell 15 places, according to college rankings released this week by U.S. News and World Report.

To determine this year’s "Best Graduate Schools" rankings, the national magazine analyzed more than 1,300 graduate and specialty programs and considered standardized test scores of newly enrolled students, opinions from experts on the program’s quality, acceptance rate and other factors.

Boyd Law School’s legal writing program was ranked third nationally, and its dispute resolution program at the Saltman Center for Conflict Resolution was ranked ninth nationally.

The law school was ranked 83rd nationally out of 194 accredited law schools, falling 15 places from last year. UNLV’s part-time law program ranked 20th out of 83 accredited programs, and its law school also ranked 48th nationally for its student diversity.

• Online nursing program: 10th

• Earth sciences: 88th

• Fine arts: 93rd

• Sociology: 94th

• Part-time MBA: 94th

• Civil engineering: 99th

• Nursing: 99th
