NLV police investigating city’s first homicide of 2014

NLV homicide

The first homicide of 2014 in North Las Vegas is under investigation today.

Police say the victim is a 54-year-old man, found dead in his apartment in the 2400 block of Webster Street.

In a news release issued late this afternoon, police said about 12:50 p.m. officers responded to a call and found the 54-year-old resident lying on the floor of his apartment, deceased from what appeared to be multiple stab wounds.

Evidence suggests a struggle in the apartment preceded the death. Detectives continue to investigate, but no arrests have been made.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office will release the man’s identity and release the official cause and manner of death after an autopsy is completed and next-of-kin notified.

Anyone with additional information in the case is asked to call the North Las Vegas Police Department at (702) 633-9111 or, to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555.
