A Henderson man killed in a shootout with Henderson Police on Wednesday morning has been identified as 36-year-old Ryan Marone, according to the Clark County Coroner’s Office.

Marone, who shot and wounded an officer in the exchange, died of gunshot wounds to the neck and chest, officials said.

The incident unfolded about 4:30 a.m. in the Eagle Crest neighborhood, near Horizon Ridge Parkway and Iridescent Street.

Police responded to reports of shots fired and encountered Marone, who fired at them, injuring Officer Timothy Donnelly, officials said.

Donnelly and three other Henderson Police officers — Carlos Chorens, Troy McDermed and David Woolman — fired back, killing Marone.

Few details have been released about the shooting, but officials said there was no link between the shooting Wednesday and a Sunday shooting rampage that left two Metro Police officers and one civilian dead.
