51s fall in extra innings at Oklahoma City

Gregorio Petit’s game-ending solo home run with two outs in the 12th inning today gave host Oklahoma City a 6-5 victory against the Las Vegas 51s.

The 51s (39-29) led 5-4 entering the bottom of the ninth inning, but surrendered three wild pitches and two walks in allowing Oklahoma City to even the score and force extra innings.

Las Vegas designated hitter Travis d’Arnaud, who was demoted to Triple-A this week from the New York Mets because of his struggles at the plate, continued his hot-hitting in the minor leagues. He clubbed his third home run in four games to highlight the 51s’ 10-hit attack.

Cory Vaughn also homered for Las Vegas, Allan Dykstra had a pair of hits and infielder Anthony Seratelli finished with two RBIs.

The series continues at 5:05 p.m. Saturday.
