The pedestrian was crossing Meikle Lane, west of Ringe Road, shortly before 1:30 a.m. when he was hit by a white, cargo-style van, which failed to stop and left southbound on Ringe Road, police said.

The pedestrian, a 50-year-old Las Vegas man, was taken to University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said. His name was not released, pending notification of family.

The van would have sustained damage to its right front, police said.
