Pedestrian in critical condition after being struck outside crosswalk

Pedestrian critically injured

A pedestrian was critically injured Saturday after being struck by a vehicle while the person walked across Nellis Boulevard outside a marked crosswalk.

Metro Police responded about 8:10 p.m. to the collision at Nellis Boulevard south of Sahara Avenue. Evidence indicates that a Chevy sedan was traveling south on Nellis when the pedestrian entered the right travel lane in front of the Chevy, police said.

The front of the Chevy then struck the pedestrian, who was transported to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, police said.

Metro is investigating the collision.
