A Metro Police SWAT team was called in Tuesday after a man stole a candy bar from a Wal-Mart and then barricaded himself in a dentist’s office, Metro Police said.
Police received a call at 12:06 p.m. of a robbery at the Wal-Mart in the 200 block of North Nellis Boulevard, Officer Jesse Roybal said.
A man had reportedly stolen a candy bar and swung a knife at a security guard before running down the street and barricading himself in a nearby dentist’s office, Roybal said.
Metro SWAT and police-dog units were called to the scene, and the suspect was taken into custody about 1:50 p.m., officials said.
There didn’t appear to be any injuries, Roybal said.
