Long ball from Matt Reynolds helps 51s beat Salt Lake

Matt Reynolds’ three-run home run in the seventh inning today helped the Las Vegas 51s beat visiting Salt Lake 5-4.

With two outs in the seventh inning and the 51s trailing by two runs, shortstop Reynolds belted a three-run shot to left field to give Las Vegas the lead for good.

Las Vegas starter Noah Syndergaard recorded his second straight quality outing, striking out eight batters in five innings and allowing just one earned run. In his past two starts, Syndergaard has given up one run in 11 and 1/3 innings.

The series continues at 7:05 p.m. Monday.
