CARSON CITY — More than 100 state workers and the governor evacuated the Nevada Capitol when a fire alarm sounded this afternoon.
The Carson City Fire Department answered the call. It was determined to be a false alarm set off by machinery in the basement.
Gov. Brian Sandoval was in his office at the time and went to a designated evacuation site, press aide Tyler Klimas said.
Employees returned to work about 35 minutes later.
CORRECTION: This story has been updated to reflect that Gov. Brian Sandoval was in his office at the time of the fire alarm. | (July 24, 2014)
